A Fistral Beach (Cornovaglia) è iniziato il Boardmasters festival, che anche quest’anno insieme alla musica e belle serate vede diversi contest importanti in tutte le categorie. Ieri ed oggi si è partiti con la shortboard e rispettivamente col Quiksilver e Roxy Open, entrambe tappe importanti QS European Leg (surf contest maschile e femminile ognuno da 1,000 punti). Presenti alla gara gli italiani Alessandro Piu e Angelo Bonomelli, entrambi alla ricerca di punti preziosi per il ranking europeo. Il primo, partito abbastanza bene superando il primo round al secondo posto, non è riuscito a firmare il bis al secondo round, fermandosi in quarta posizione nella sua heat.
Partenza al massimo invece per Angelo Bonomelli, di cui tutti ricorderete l’eccezionale secondo posto raggiunto nel 2016 (CLICCA QUI per vedere com’era andata): il campione italiano in carica passa il round in prima posizione ed ora ad attenderlo nella heat 5 del terzo round ci sono Pedro Coelho, Samson Coulter e Joss Ash.
