767 contestants have already signed up and we have three more days to go before the start of hostilities – 800 is a distinct possibility. Maybe not a record for Defi Wind, which already holds the record for the biggest meeting of windsurfers in the world, but an excellent result in these tormented times.
What makes it even better is that we will have 29 countries from 6 continents represented at Gruissan from May 9th to 12th. This holds a lot of promise for some interesting international encounters when battle commences.
A programme of races and parties
That’s the Defi recipe: wind, windsurfers, crazy racing and parties late into the night. The programme is now official and can be found by clicking here.
Five evenings, a massive mussel dish, a Defi Grill, four live concerts, 3 DJs and a galaxy of stars. First race starts Thursday 9th May at 12.00 but make sure you come in good time. The Defi team will be there from May 8th at 09.00 to make sure that you are registered.
Defi wind movie
More than 50 films have been entered for the competition but only the first ten will be shown on the big screen in front of our prestigious jury, headed by Philip Köster himself.
For those who cannot be at Gruissan on May 10th and 21.00 but who want to overdose on windsurfing images, click here.
