NAISH
Force FIVE
Disponibile nelle misure: 3.7, 4.1, 4.5, 4.7, 5.0, 5.3, 5.7.
Force THREE
Ultra light Wave.

What is the overall concept behind the new expanded Force range?
It all started when we built Robby a four batten version of his sail – the result was so successful that it immediately opened up the possibility of a whole new way of thinking with regards to wave sail design. Rather than treat each model as a separate concept, why not just start with the same proven mold and modify the feature set (subtracting battens, moving things around a bit) while maintaining the core design elements that ultimately define the ‘feel’ and performance. The obvious choice for a base design was the Force, our premium wave sail that has been both our central, brand-defining product and an integral component of Robby’s sailing style for over a decade. It is also the sail with the longest continuous development and refinement. So the Force FOUR is a lighter, slightly softer version of our best sail, and the Force THREE takes it another step further in that direction, meaning that there is now a Naish Force for virtually every style and size of wave sailor.
2015 Force FOUR Designer’s Notes
What was the inspiration behind the all new, 2015 Force FOUR?
Robby was very impressed with the light weight and huge range of the Chopper and wondered if it would be possible to bring some of those qualities into the Force (his ‘go to’ sail) by building basically the same sail with 4 battens instead of 5. The answer was ‘yes’, thus changing the way Naish will approach wave sail development in the future.
What are the benefits of this new design?
It’s lighter. It powers up more easily at the bottom of its wind range. It feels ‘softer’, yet has 95% of the power that people have come to expect from the Force instantly available, and the same even pressure in both hands that Robby relies on for his signature style and moves.
How does it compare to the Force FIVE?
The Force FIVE is a little more stable, with smooth, even power throughout its very wide wind range. The Force FOUR is a little more of a ‘hot rod’ – not quite as refined, but fun, powerful and lighter with the ‘softer’ feel as noted. Both sails are incredibly versatile – the classic Force FIVE is still the best choice for onshore and bump and jump conditions for most riders, while the Force FOUR is a little more surfing oriented.
What types of riders is this sail best suited for? What will the rider experience?
The Force FOUR will ultimately become the central wave sail in the Naish range – we see it as the perfect balance between traditional Force characteristics like power, range, and control, and the lighter weight and more reactive nature of newer, more progressive designs like the Chopper and Boxer.

2015 Force THREE Designer’s Notes
What was the inspiration behind the all new, 2015 Force THREE?
The development of the Force FOUR – that borrowed directly from the platform and shaping of the classic 5 batten Force – was so successful that the obvious next move was to try a 3 batten version. We had played with 3 batten sails when we developed the Chopper 3 years ago (and made some really good ones), and some other brands were making some stuff that looked kind of interesting, so there was that. What we were NOT expecting was how great the 3 batten sail turned out to be – especially after we tested different foot batten configurations. The end result is a sail with more or less ‘normal’ dimensions that does everything the Chopper did and then some.
What are the benefits of this new design?
Extremely lightweight. Huge wind range. Ultra soft feel and the ability to go neutral – it is easier than ever for the rider to apply or release power, making the sail very forgiving and user friendly.
How does it compare to the Force FOUR?
It’s lighter – probably the lightest wave sail on the market – and incredibly easy to handle, but it moves another step away from rock solid stability, and for sure it gives up a little bit of power due to having just (3) battens and (1) luff panel. Nobody who has tried it seems to mind.
What types of riders is this sail best suited for? What will the rider experience?
The Force THREE represents the purist end of the surfing market – it is without question the best sail we make for pure wave riding. Compared to the Force FIVE and the Force FOUR, the Force THREE is the most side and side-offshore oriented design while still having great bump and jump qualities and works especially well for lighter riders. The lighter weight also makes it easier to travel with, especially with regards to ever more stringent airline weight limits.
