La Freek è la vela da freestyle di Severne. Grazie all’utilizzo del top dei materiali e quindi alla sua leggerezza, Ben Severne propone questa vela a 5 stecche e non a 4 come tutte le altre vele da freestyle degli altri brand. Maggiore stabilità, migliore bilanciamento, easy ducking e con una rotazione morbida delle stecche.

In 20I2 the S-I was the world’s lightest and most capable freestyle/wave sail. Last year we took the best characteristics of the S-I and created a dedicated freestyle sail – the Freek.
Modern freestyle has evolved into a high-power, aerial discipline requiring very specific sail characteristics. Arguably the most important of these is the sails’ ducking ability; being able to consistently duck the sail at high speed, and on both tacks was a priority.
We chose to use a 5 batten layout on the Freek as it allows us to increase the wind-range and stability. This allows the rider to carry more speed and power into manoeuvres, which results in higher, more explosive moves. By utilizing our high tech eM3 materials, our 5 batten freestyle sail is still lighter than most 4 batten sails.
For 20I4, the Freek has even more lift, increased stability and easier ducking;
– Aspect ratios have been increased which resulted in the increased lift.
– Stability was improved by reducing the head area.
– New profiles used in the power zone coupled with softer battens make the Freek more neutral during ducking manoeuvres.
Dedicated freestylers will rig the sail with less downhaul with a tighter head for maximum lift,
freestyle wave riders may use more downhaul for more control in a wider range of conditions.
The 0I4 Freek gives maximum freestyle performance.
