La novità più interessante in casa Simmer per quanto riguarda la sezione tavole è il nuovo Frugal, una tavola wave molto corta e larga per surfare in qualunque tipo di condizione, anche quelle più marginali. Uno shape che per il 2014 verrà proposto da diverse aziende.
Ecco cosa ci comunica Simmer a proposito di questa tavola:
“The Frugal is a extremely short design with a super short tail and nose for quicker reactions and sharper turns. It is relatively wide for turning power also in slower waves, but actually narrow at your back for grip in the turns. It has a quite special rocker line that is developed from the Fly. It has the same quite curvy rocker in the middle of the board but has a faster tail rocker. Together with the short tail, it still turns very sharp and above all goes through a tight turn without loosing speed. The short tail and rear rocker profile also makes it very easy and stably in a straight line and through chop. It has also been specifically developed from the ground up to be more”fin driven” in the sense that it changes it’s character a lot depending on what fins you put on it. We will sell it as standard with the big fin forward style quad setup which is the one that makes the board perform the best in slow wave and onshore to cross on as well as in most sideshore conditions. WIth a regular (small fin forward) quad setups the board becomes more traditional in feel and works better in super fast sideshore conditions. You can also tune it with different twin and tri fin options depending on exactly the sailor wants the board to feel.”
