I am enjoy to announce the official IFCA FREESTYLE WORLD CUP PRO KIDS.
This event will takes place during the “Sosh freestyle cup” for this 5th edition, from the 20th to the 24th of June, in Marseille, France.
As you know, south of France is a real windy place, it will be a nice event for windsurfing
Please could you help me to promote this event, organised to develop the new generation of windsurfer.

2012 SONY FREESTYLE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
for Pro Kids, JUNIOR & YOUTH

1 RULES
1.1 The event will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing – Windsurfing Competition Rules (WCR).
1.2 The International Funboard Class Association (IFCA) Championship Rules shall apply.
1.3 No national prescriptions will apply.
1.4 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.
2 ADVERTISING
2.1 Sailors may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organising authority. ISAF Regulation 20 ‘Advertising Code’ shall apply.
2.2 Event branding shall be worn at all times when afloat, and as requested by the organisers during media interviews and during the prize giving.
3 DIVISIONS
3.1 Age Divisions:
3.1.1 A Pro Kid under 13 shall be born in or after 2000.
3.1.2 A Pro Kid under 15 shall be born in or after 1998.
3.1.3 A Junior shall be under the age of 17 (born in or after 1996 and not later than 2001).
3.1.4 A Youth shall be under the age 20 (born in or after 1993 and not later than 1999).
3.2 A minimum of 5 competitors is required to constitute a division.
4 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
4.1 All entries shall meet the requirements of ISAF Regulation 19 – Eligibility Code.
4.2 Competitors shall be members of a National Class Association which is a paid up member of the relevant international class association, or of the IWA. Membership formalities can be completed on site.

The following shall be presented upon registration:
 Original Entry Form – pre-entries will be given their completed form 1 to check and sign at registration.
 Evidence of valid third party insurance
 Proof of age
 Parental/legal Guardian Assent – for those under age of 18
 Medical Treatment Permission – for those under age of 18 or on their parents medical insurance policy
5 FEES
5.1 The entry fee is: Youth-160 euro; Junior-130 euro; Pro Kid-110 euro.
5.2 Entries received before May 23rd 2012 will receive a 30 euro discount.
5.3 Entries accepted at registration shall be surcharged 20 euro
5.4 Entry fees paid at registration shall be paid in cash (euro).

6 EVENT FORMAT
6.1 The championship shall be a single discipline, freestyle-expression, “open entry” event.
6.2 Youth men and women, junior boys and girls, may compete together.
6.3 Competitors shall compete in maximum 3 eliminations per day per division.
6.4 One completed elimination, up to and including the final, is required to validate the championship in each division.
7 SCHEDULE
7.1 Tuesday 19 June Early arrivals & training

1300 Skippers Meeting
1400 First possible start of competition
1900 Opening Ceremony & Party
Thursday 21 June 1000 Competition
Friday 22 June 1000 Competition
Saturday 23 June 1000 Competition

Sunday 24 June 1700 Last possible warning signal
1900 Prize giving
7.2 The first possible warning signal will be made each day at 1000hrs, except on the first day of competition when the first possible warning signal will be at 1400hrs.
7.3 A skippers meeting will be held each day one hour before the scheduled start of competition.
8 EQUIPMENT & EQUIPMENT INSPECTION
8.1 An Equipment Inspection Form, which will be available at registration, shall be returned to the Event Equipment Inspector before the start of competition.
8.2 Equipment inspections may be made at any time during the event.
8.3 Equipment may be stored on the event site from 1900hrs on 19th June, until 0900hrs on 25th June. Night security is provided from 1800hrs to 0900hrs. During the day the responsibility for equipment is solely with the competitor.
9 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions (SI’s) will be available upon registration. Any changes to the SI’s shall be approved by the IWA Class Representative.
10 COMPETITION AREA
The competition area will be as prescribed in the sailing instructions or as described at the Skippers Meeting.
11 PROTEST COMMITTEE
A Protest Committee will be appointed in accordance with WCR 91(a).

12 SCORING
Scoring will be according to the WCR Appendix A, and using IFCA Championship Rule # 6.1.
13 COACHES & SUPPORT PERSONNEL
Coaches and support personnel shall be registered with the organiser.
14 SAFETY
If personal buoyancy is prescribed every competitor and support boat crewmember shall wear a personal flotation device that shall confirm to the minimum standard ISO 12402-5 (Level 50)
15 PRIZES
15.1 Prizes may be awarded to the first three competitors of each properly constituted division. Properly constituted divisions will be posted on the official notice board after the completion of the registration.
15.2 The first Pro-Kid u13 and u15 competitor will be declared – “IFCA Pro-Kid Freestyle Champion.”
15.3 The first Junior boy or girl will be declared – “2012 IFCA Junior Freestyle World Champion”.
15.4 The first Youth man or woman will be declared – “2012 IFCA Youth Freestyle World Champion”.
16 OFFICIAL CEREMONIES
Competitors are requested to attend the event’s social functions; however, the organising authority may refuse entry to those whose standard of attire is not commensurate with the occasion. Prize winners may forfeit prizes for non attendance at the prize giving ceremony.
17 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the event entirely at their own risk, see WCR 4 – Decision to Race. The organising authority or any of their officials or representatives or the sponsors or their officials or representatives will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the event.
18 INSURANCE
Each participating competitor/support boat driver shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 1,000,000 euro per event or the equivalent.
19 RIGHT TO USE NAME AND LIKENESS
In registering for the event, competitors automatically grant to the Organising Authority the right in perpetuity to make, use and show from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed

television and other reproduction of them, taken during the period of the event, for the said Event as defined in the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions in which he/she participates without compensation.
