Sul fronte dei titoli europei, nell’Under 17 vincono il francese Tom Monnet, la israeliana Noy Drihan; nell’Under 15 l’italiana Giorgia Speciale e il francese Tom Arnoux. Per quanto riguarda la selezione dei due atleti italiani che, grazie all’odierna qualificazione della nazionale, rappresenteranno l’Italia alle Olimpiadi giovanili in Cina, la scelta si effettuerà tenendo conto della classifica dell’Europeo e della prossima tappa di Coppa Italia, in programma a maggio a Termoli (CB).
UNDER 17 MASCHILE – Podio completamente francese per la classe Under 17 maschile: al primo posto il campione d’oltralpe Tom Monnet, seguito dai connazionali Alec Herledan e Titouan Le Bosq. Quarto posto, per un errore di troppo nella prima prova odierna che lo ha relegato in 32.a posizione, per il giovane atleta russo Maxim Tokarev, uno degli atleti-sorpresa del campionato, e in grande crescita. Miglior italiano è il siciliano Ruggero Lo Mauro (Circolo Canottieri Roggero Lauria), che con il suo costante ottavo posto ha qualificato l’Italia per le Olimpiadi giovanili; sprint finale, oggi, per il cagliaritano Carlo Ciabatti (WCCagliari) che con un secondo e un settimo di giornata si è portato a pochi punti dal connazionale, chiudendo decimo.
UNDER 15 FEMMINILE – Giorgia Speciale (Ancona – Stamura) ha vinto oggi a Torbole il campionato europeo Techno 293 nella Divisione Under 15 femminile. La giovane marchigiana ha condotto magistralmente il campionato, con nove primi posti su 11 regate disputate, e scartando un secondo e un quarto posto. Un titolo ampiamente meritato, vinto con 8 punti di vantaggio sulla greca Natalia Arapoglou; il terzo posto è andato alla polacca Lidia Sulikowska, che precede l’italiana Alessandra Papitto (Lega Navale Ostia), quarta. Da segnalare, sempre per quanto riguarda le giovani atlete italiane, l’ottavo posto di Aurora De Felici (Lega Navale Civitavecchia).
UNDER 15 MASCHILE – Va a Francia, Grecia e Gran Bretagna il podio della classe Under 15 maschile: la vittoria, con ampio margine di vantaggio sulle 11 prove disputate è andata a Tom Arnoux, seguito, ai fini del campionato europeo, dal greco Leonidas Tsortanidis e dall’inglese Joshua Carey. Sul fronte overall, da registrare però il secondo posto assoluto dell’americano Geronimo Nores, che non compete però per il titolo continentale. Sul fronte Italia, il miglior piazzamento è quello di Riccardo Renna, che ha sfruttato al meglio il “fattore campo”: atleta del Circolo Surf Torbole, infatti, ha chiuso in nona posizione, precedendo il siciliano Federico Vetro (Albaria).

TECHNO PLUS – Podio consolidato, infine, per la Divisione Plus, le cui regate, sperimentalmente, sono state seguite ieri e oggi con un tracking on line. La vittoria va al francese Julien Bouyer, seguito dal connazionale Olivier Tuhault: il terzo gradino del podio è italiano, con Tommaso Tensi (Lega navale Ostia).

WINDSURF/TECHNO 293: EUROPEAN TITLES TO ISRAEL, FRANCE AND ITALY
Torbole, April 26th, 2014 – A great performance by France, Israel, and Italy at the Techno 293 European Championship in Torbole (Italy), which finished this afternoon after a week of racing on Lake Garda. Giorgia Speciale from Ancona (Stamura) confirms to be the best in her Division, and adds to the World Title won in Poland in 2013 another European title, her second one. But that is not all: thanks to the results in the Under 17 Division by two athletes from Siciliy, Giulia Alagna (eighth in the Under 17 female) and Ruggero Lo Mauro (eighth in the Under 17 male), Italy qualifies for the Summer Youth Olympic games, the youth Olympics to be held in Nanjing (China) in August, from the 16th to the 28th.
Other nations have qualified for Nanjing thanks to the results achieved in Torbole: Russia, Netherlands and Greece in the men’s divisions, and Israel, Spain, and Netherlands in female’s Division. The European titles in Under 17 went to the French Tom Monnet and the Israeli Noy Drihan. The champions in Under 15 are the Italian Giorgia Speciale and the French Tom Arnoux, while in the Techno Plus won the French Julien Bouyer.
UNDER 17 MEN – Podium completely French for the Under-17 men’s class, where Tom Monnet confirms the first place he held for the whole week, followed by compatriots Alec Herledan and Titouan Le Bosq. Fourth place, due to an error in the first race today that relegated him in 32nd position, for the young Russian athlete Maxim Tokarev, one of the surprise of the season.
UNDER 17 WOMEN – The same podium of the 2013 edition, but in reverse order. It has the taste of revenge as in the final result of the Under 17 women the new European champion is the Israeli Noy Drihan (Eilat SC) with a great consistency of results (8 out of 12 races finished at the first place, two seconds and two fourths). She outdistanced teammate Shoval Ravitzky, who confirms the second place she got last year. Third position for the winner of the 2013 edition of the European Championship, the Russian from St. Petersburg Mariam Sekhposyan, which benefited from the injury of the French Lucie Pianazza, who retired from the competition on the penultimate day when she was third.
UNDER 15 MEN – The podium of the men’s Under 15 class goes to France, Greece and Great Britain: the victory, by a wide margin over the 11 races, went to Tom Arnoux, followed, for the purposes of the European Championship, by the greek Leonidas Tsortanidis and the english Joshua Carey. TECHNO PLUS – Podium consolidated for the Plus Division whose races, experimentally, were followed yesterday and today with an online tracking system. The victory goes to Frenchman Julien Bouyer, followed by compatriot Olivier Tuhault, the third step of the podium is Italian, with Tommaso Tensi (Lega Navale Ostia).
