Dopo le prime due giornate di attesa finalmente il vento è arrivato in Croazia. Andrea Ferin (RRD, Challenger) inizia alla grande questo campionato europeo slalom con un bel secondo posto. Marco Begalli (Starboard/Severne) 6°, Bruno Martini (RRD) 9°, Luigi Romano (RRD) 12° e Max Loncrini, giovane rider del Circolo Surf Torbole, 37°.

Finalmente oggi siamo riusciti a chiudere il primo tabellone, il vento è stato buono ieri e oggi ma la finestra in cui si riesce a regatare è un po’ stretta più o meno dalle 14/15:00 alle 18:00/19:00, e il comitato non è molto rapido nelle procedure. Comunque abbiamo finito il tabellone iniziato ieri e siamo riusciti a qualificarci per la finale io e Begalli, Nella partenza io Marco e Enrico Marotti CRO-401, siamo partiti in boa, ma io sono rimasto incastrato fra i rifiuti dei due e sono rimasto un pò indietro, per fortuna il resto del gruppo è partito più alto e non è riuscito a sceendere veloce verso la prima boa, così a parte Marotti alla prima boa ho avuto la prima occasione di recuperare qualche posizione, e sono uscito 3°, primo Marotti e secondo un olandese che sono riuscito a riprendere propio all’ultima strambata e così ho chiuso secondo!
Successivamente, visto il vento buono, abbiamo cominciato il secondo tabellone e abbiamo concluso tutti i quarti, Domani quindi cominceremo dalle semifinali. Per domani le previsioni sono simili a oggi, quindi dovremmo riuscire a concludere anche il secondo tabellone e magari incomiciarne un terzo che ci permetterà di avere già uno scarto.

IFCA Slalom European Championship Bol, Braç, Croatia 2014
Day 3 started off just like any other day here on BOL sunny, slow with a very light breeze.
The skippers meeting was held at 11am followed by the AGM ( Annual General Meeting ) with important announcements and updates about the future aspect of the International Funboard Class Association. Most of the discussed subjects and announcements will be posted on the IFCA website.
The thermal wind came a bit earlier today and the competition could finally continue.
In the Junior and Youths We saw great performances by Kosmina Jan SLO-9 and Swijenburg Coen NED-262 both managed to stay way up front during the races.
In the Womens Division
BEL-26 Andrea Vanhoorne mist her first race due to a broken mast, that race was won by SLO-58 Juta Oslak. The other rounds of the females division where all dominated by the belgium diva who managed to win every race.
The Seniors, Masters and Grandmasters:
Great action today with a few crashes, a broken mast and a couple of protest.
Some of todays highlights:
FRA-511 Sebastien Bonhomme one of the light weight riders who is trying very hard
CRO-401 Enrico Marotti with a solid performance and winning the 1st elimination
ITA-1111 Ferin Andrea made a few mistakes but made it trough to the Finals
NED-191 Ingmar Daldorf kept it save and steady and currently hold the 3rd position
Masters
AUT-226 Chris Pressler fighting hard out there and will likely see more great performances from him
GBR-659 James Dinsmore showing great slalom skills and is though one at the moment
ITA-415 Begalli Marco does it the Italian way and always appears to be right in the spot to qualify
The conditions today were great for a half day of racing in winds from 13 to 15 knots.
1 elimination round was completed and the second elimination started short after.
We mannaged to run the first 8 heats of the The Seniors, Masters and Grandmasters.
Tomorrow the skippers meeting is scheduled at 11am.
Hopefully another great thermal wind will show up so the races could continue on Day 4 of the IFCA European Slalom Championships.
