IFCA Slalom Y&M World Championship Roses 2014, Day 1&2

Dal 17 al 21 giugno si svolge nello splendido scenario del Golfo di Roses (Spagna) il mondiale IFCA Slalom Junior, Youths e Masters. Ieri giornata di registrazioni e oggi poco vento.
Robert Hoffmann commenta: “Oggi ha fatto vento ma poi è calato per un forte temporale.  I prossimi giorni ci sono buone previsioni”. Vi terremo aggiornati sull’evolversi dell’evento, intanto che aspettiamo l’inizio delle gare vi lasciamo con le press release dell’evento dei primi due giorni.

The IFCA Slalom Windsurfing World Championships kicks off for Junior, Youths and Masters
Slalom eliminations and live music concerts are expected from the 17th till the 21st of June here in one of the most famous bays in the world ” Gulf of Roses “existing of beaches and coves, nature reserves and mountains, fascinating prehistoric monuments and ruins left by ancient settlers along this Mediterranean coast, museums, exceptional cuisine and an infrastructure for leisure and active tourism are its calling card.

75 competitors from 18 countries and 3 continents have signed up for this Windsurfing World Championship.
43 Youths + Juniors
32 Masters

Day 0
Registration day for all competitors followed by a practice race in the afternoon.
The official opening ceremony took place in the conferance area at the Monte Carlo Hotel with opening words from Tourism and Goverment officials including Bruno de Wannemaeker President of the International Funboard Class Association.

Day2
A relaxing morning breeze welcomed the competitors on the 2nd competition day.
Hourly announcements were made after the skippers meeting due to poor conditions in the morning,
somewhat after lunch time the wind seemed to be picking up but still not good enough for an offcial race. Wind measurements from the water crew: 10 to 14 knots
Everyone was excited and ready for a start untill dark clouds slowly started to cover the kies followed by rain and even more lighter winds in the afternoon.
The wind again faild to provide suitable conditions for racing on the second competition day but most competitors are staying positive while looking forward to the upcoming days here in Roses.
