Al Corona Open J-Bay 2017 si sono vissute le giornate più spettacolari del world tour! Fra avvistamenti di squali, svariati perfect 10 e anche qualche perfect 20 su onde lunghe, solide e perfette, la sesta tappa del tour ha tenuto incollati al monitor tutti gli appassionati.
Le tre giornate conclusive del contest hanno visto condizioni definibili good to epic un un Jeffreys Bay in ottima forma, capace di sfornare destre lunghissime tra6 e 8 foot (1.8 – 2.4 m) questa mattina, qualcosa di più solido ieri e ieri l’altro.
Leonardo Fioravanti nulla ha potuto contro il perfect 20 di Jordy Smith, che in particolare nella heat contro l’Italiano ha dato il meglio di se. Anche Leo tuttavia ha saputo dimostrare il suo valore, uscendo a testa alta con un 16.17 dopo essersi preso la rivincita al round 2 contro Sebastian Zietz.
L’infortunio di Kelly Slater sembra meno grave del previsto e, nonostante abbia perso le possibilità di competere per il titolo 2017, lo rivedremo in acqua probabilmente già al Billabong Pro Tahiti (Teahupoʻo, dove è il campione in carica dopo la vittoria dell’anno scorso) oppure in California per l’Hurley Pro at Trestles.
